From the Chair of our Board of Directors,

David Garner

Hope Still Rises

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people who have made Hope Air successful this past year. I am incredibly proud of the donors, volunteers, staff, leadership and my fellow board members at Hope Air.

These have been incredibly challenging days for Canadians and those across the world. Together, Hope Air has been able to accomplish so much during this time. Despite many obstacles, we have still been able to help patients reach the healthcare they need.

A cancer patient should not have to drive twelve hours to reach life-saving cancer treatments. Many illnesses, including cancer, require more than one appointment and make a car ride of up to 12 hours each way monthly, quarterly or even weekly quite grueling. That’s more time off work, more money spent on hotels and travel expenses, and more time away from family, friends and communities.

We put hope within reach for the people we assist, especially during these times. The support we provide lifts an enormous burden from patients’ shoulders.

At Hope Air, we believe that all Canadians should be able to access our healthcare system. We are truly grateful to all of our supporters that we have been able to continue our vital work throughout the pandemic and look forward to the work we will continue to do together to help patients in 2021.

I would like to thank my fellow board members for their contributions and ongoing commitment to Hope Air, and add a special note of thanks to Sandra Heath who will be retiring from our Hope Air Board of Directors in 2021 – her insights and counsel have been much appreciated by all.

Sincerely,

David Garner
